Virtual Training on Home Visiting Tools: PICCOLO and HOVRS

Home visitors—level up your skills this August and September! With these upcoming virtual workshops, you’ll learn how to use two essential tools for home visiting programs: Parenting Interactions with Children: Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO™) and The Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS).

About HOVRS:

The Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS) is an observation tool with rating scales that allow practitioners and supervisors to assess the quality of home visits from direct observation. The tool includes seven rating scales, four for the actual home visit process and three for the engagement and interaction of parents and children during home visits. HOVRS is included in the book Developmental Parenting by Lori A. Roggman, Lisa K. Boyce, & Mark S. Innocenti, a practical guide to building a developmental parenting program that puts parents and caregivers confidently in charge of supporting their young children’s development.
